Substance Use

Substance use exists on a spectrum, and people come to it for many different reasons, such as coping, connection, relief, curiosity, or survival.

In counselling, the goal isn’t to label or judge substance use, but to understand the role it plays in someone’s life. By approaching this work with curiosity, compassion, and respect for autonomy, I create a space where honesty feels safe and change feels possible.

As a counsellor, I support people in clarifying their own substance use goals. Whether that means abstinence, reduction, safer use, or simply gaining insight, I'm here to help.

Meeting people where they are means honouring their lived experience, pace, and values, while collaboratively exploring what’s working, what isn’t, and what they want moving forward. Change is most sustainable when it’s self-directed, supported, and grounded in dignity rather than pressure or shame.
